The Legal 500 is proud to launch its standalone Bar Awards, a continuation of our global programme of awards. This annual event will be the most prestigious and respected awards ceremony in the calendar for the self-employed Bar, clerks and other chambers professionals, recognising practitioners from London and across England, Scotland and Wales.
The Legal 500 will be seeking to recognise chambers as wholes and individuals – barristers of all levels of seniority, clerks, other chambers professionals and arbitrators. Tying in with The Legal 500 Future Lawyers, a set will be recognised for its pupils.
These awards are determined based on The Legal 500’s market-leading independent research for the annual directory. Winners are selected by a judging team spearheaded by Global Bar editor Will Tolcher, deputy Bar editor Charlotte Meredith and publishing director David Burgess, and includes over 20 in-house and freelance researchers with in-depth knowledge of their practice areas, the same who are responsible for the annual production of the authoritative The Legal 500 guide, and using the same evidence base. Some practice areas have stand-alone awards and others are thematic groupings of directory practice areas.
