In a shameless shout-out for my own shop, I’m making up this opportunity to highlight what is already one of our favourite projects. Next week we’ll be holding our GC Power List Summer Reception at The Club at The Ivy.
The evening on 24 June expands on our popular annual GC Power List report, now in its third edition. As the report is unveiled early in the year alongside the Legal Business Awards, we last year launched the summer reception to give the general counsel cited in the reports a chance to meet in a more relaxed setting.
The evening will begin with drinks and canapés before a debate with a panel of general counsel including Siobhan Moriarty (Diageo), Monica Risam (Aviva), Chris Newby (AIG), Benoit Belhomme (British American Tobacco), Maria Leistner (Credit Suisse) and Andrew Garard (ITV) to explore the themes of the 2015 report on outstanding teams. And then more food and drink.
The reception has over 80 senior in-house counsel set to attend including general counsel of Pearson, BSkyB, Amlin, Barclays, Harper Collins, John Lewis, Lloyds Bank, Shell and the Crown Estate.
As we’ve been intent on doing more for the in-house community in recent years and putting on more quality events, this project really hits the mark; I don’t think I’ve seen stronger delegate feedback on an event launch than for our 2014 reception. Legal Business and its Legalease stable-mates have plenty more in the pipeline for the GC community.
