Three months into his official tenure as Gowling WLG’s UK chief executive, corporate partner Chris Towle (pictured) is clear that he has not inherited a firm in need of revolution.
What is apparent is that an era of flux has been steadied. The early years of former CEO David Fennell’s leadership were transformative for the firm, with the 2014 merger of Birmingham’s Wragge & Co – where Towle started his career in 2004 – and London’s Lawrence Graham followed closely by the tie-up with Canadian firm Gowlings in 2016.
