Kirkland launches Tokyo office with three-lawyer hire from US rivals

Kirkland & Ellis is set to launch in Tokyo, with a trio of hires from US rivals White & Case, Morrison & Foerster and Ropes & Gray.

The Chicago-bred juggernaut has recruited leveraged finance partner Clara Shirota from White & Case, M&A and private equity partner Naoya Shiota from MoFo, and private equity and M&A counsel Catherine Simes from Ropes & Gray, where she was an associate.
