The $1.65bn sale of Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team the Rajasthan Royals, alongside sister franchises Barbados Royals and Paarl Royals, made headlines this month, as the second billion-dollar-plus IPL franchise sale so far this year.
The deal followed an auction process in which Macfarlanes advised Royal Sports Group on the sell-side, and Latham & Watkins advised Lakshmi Mittal and the Mittal family on the buy-side.
