Trio of law firms advise as offshore leader takes external investment

Three firms have taken roles advising as Appleby becomes the second offshore firm to take external investment in just six weeks.

Ropes & Gray, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Addleshaw Goddard are all advising on the deal, which will see New York-based investment firm New Mountain Capital take a minority interest in a newly established Cayman Islands company that will indirectly own Appleby Global Group LLC, the managed services organisation (MSO) for Appleby’s law firms and the owner of the Appleby Global Services entities.
