The most highly recommended firms across key EMEA markets have been revealed by Legal 500 research, with Addleshaw Goddard, CMS and Garrigues coming out among the top scorers.
The firms are among those to have received the highest ratings, based on an analysis of client satisfaction data gathered during Legal 500 research for 12 major EMEA markets.
The data highlights the most highly recommended firms across France, Germany, the Nordics, Benelux, Iberia, Italy, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Poland, Austria and Turkey, with domestic firms from each region ranked alongside the international offices of global firms.
Addleshaws comes out top of the UAE ranking, with Garrigues top for Iberia and CMS Kluge – the Norwegian arm of the CMS network – the highest scorer for the Nordics.
Bird & Bird, CMS and White & Case have the broadest showing across all 12 regions, each featuring in the top 10 rankings for three of of the 12 jurisdictions, while Baker McKenzie, Clifford Chance, Dentons and Linklaters all appear in two of the top 10s.
The scores come from the responses to a question posed to all clients in Legal 500’s annual research: ‘On a scale of 0-10, how likely are you to recommend this firm?’
This data is used to calculate a Net Promoter Score* for each firm, a widely used client service metric to assess customer satisfaction, allowing firms to be benchmarked against each other.
The analysis draws on more than 200,000 client responses, with a minimum of 200 responses required for each firm to be included, as well as notable representation throughout the Legal 500 EMEA rankings.
Looking beyond the international firms, top-scoring domestic players include McCann FitzGerald (Ireland), De Pardieu Brocas Maffei (France), PedersoliGattai (Italy) and Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek (Germany), while Dutch law firm Houthoff is the top scorer for Benelux.
Elsewhere, Günay Erdogan Attorneys At Law is the top scorer for Turkey, DSC Doralt Seist Csoklich is top for Austria, Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak leads the Poland rankings while Bär & Karrer is the standout Swiss firm.
*Net Promoter Scores are calculated by subtracting the percentage of respondents classified as “detractors” (those awarding scores of six or below) from the percentage of “promoters” (those giving scores of nine or 10). The result provides a clear indication of how strongly clients advocate for a firm’s services.
