The bitter dispute between Zamin Ferrous, the mining company run by Indian billionaire Pramod Agarwal, and embattled natural resources group ENRC over a Brazilian mine has taken another turn with Zamin drafting in barristers from Brick Court Chambers to replace existing counsel XXIV Old Buildings.

Partner moves: Morgan Lewis and Ashurst make hires in London and New York

US firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius continues its firm wide hiring spree with Covington & Burling corporate partner Simon Currie being the latest to join the firm’s City ranks. Meanwhile Ashurst is continuing efforts to bulk up its New York collateralised loan obligations (CLO) practice with the hire of partner Lawrence Berkovich from Mayer Brown.

City firms called on as SFO launches Euribor prosecution against Deutsche Bank and Barclays staff

K&L Gates, Stephenson Harwood, Herbert Smith Freehills are among the City law firms instructed as the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) today (13 November) issued the first criminal proceedings against ten former employees of Deutsche Bank and Barclays accused of manipulating the Euro Interbank Offered Rate (Euribor).
