‘When so much money is at stake people do weird things’ – latest twist in Mariana dam saga raises eyebrows

The long-running Mariana Dam saga took a new twist this week, with the news that a group of ex-Pogust Goodhead lawyers had moved to take over the £36bn group action from their former firm.

The claimant-side role on the landmark case is now in dispute, and litigation firm Humphries Kerstetter has been brought in by the client committee for the claimants to advise on replacing Pogust with Bailey Glasser International (BGI).
