Not since Paul Weiss raided Kirkland for its London relaunch in 2023 has there been so much attention on the comings and goings of a single law firm as there currently is on Weil.
Even in a recruitment market at peak froth, with lateral hiring running hot on both sides of the Atlantic, Weil stands out. Nearly 40 partners have left, or given their intention to leave, since January, including 12 in London alone. This equates to around 13% of the firm’s 300-strong partnership.
