Wachtell has reinforced its litigation bench after the exit of former co-chair Bill Savitt earlier this summer, bringing in Joon Kim from Cleary Gottlieb in a rare lateral hire.
Kim began his career as an associate at Cleary before moving to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) as an assistant US attorney. He returned to Cleary as a partner from 2006 to 2013, when he left to become acting US attorney for SDNY. He served in this role for just under five years, returning again to Cleary in 2018.
