When Michael Burns, the newest addition to Vinson & Elkins‘ London office, set out on the latest chapter in his career, his first port of call was to seek counsel from an old friend.
‘On my first day at Allen & Overy in 2002, I had a training supervisor and they said, “Michael, you should go down the corridor and knock on the door of room 202, and there’s going to be an associate who’s going to introduce you to the world of physical data rooms,” as they were then. So I trundled off down the corridor, and the person that I ended up speaking to was one Ben Higson.’
