White & Case has hired Mayer Brown global head of funds and investment management Timothy Clark in New York.
Clark moved from Dechert to Mayer Brown in 2021, and previously spent six years as a partner at O’Melveny & Myers. He advises PE, credit and sovereign wealth clients on fund formation, private fund investments and secondary transactions.
The move adds to a significant private capital push for the firm. Recent additions include PE M&A partner Oreste Cipolla, who joined the New York office from Goodwin last month, and financial services regulatory partner David Adams, who joined the firm in Washington DC from Mintz in June.
Last summer, White & Case also hired Legal 500 high-value PE Hall of Famer Helen Croke into its London office from Ropes & Gray.

Paul Weiss has hired a pair of partners in New York, bringing in capital markets duo Peter Byrne from Cooley and Tristan VanDeventer from Ropes & Gray.
Both advise public and private companies and sponsors on transactions including IPOs, M&A and securities offerings, having made partner at their former firms in 2022 and 2024 respectively.
Kirkland & Ellis has hired veteran trial lawyer Andrew LeGrand from Gibson Dunn in Dallas. He joins after 14 years at Gibson, where he made partner in 2019.
Elsewhere, real estate funds partner Rebecca Lock has left Kirkland, joining Goodwin in Philadelphia.
Lock was previously an associate at DLA Piper, before moving to Kirkland as a partner in 2022. She advises global real estate and PE fund sponsors on fund formation and issues including joint ventures, minority stake sales, secondaries and seed capital.
For its part, DLA Piper has hired former federal prosecutor Eric Bruce from Freshfields in Washington DC.
Earlier in his career, Bruce spent a decade in government roles at the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York as an assistant US attorney, and at the Department of Justice (DOJ), as senior counsel to the assistant attorney general and counsellor to the attorney general.
He moved to disputes and investigations firm Kobre & Kim in 2009, where he led the white-collar criminal defence practice and the Washington DC office, before moving to Freshfields in 2018, where he was US head of litigation, arbitration, and global investigations from 2020 to 2024.
He joins DLA as a partner in the white collar crime, investigations and government enforcement practice.
Cleary Gottlieb has hired Raunaq Kohli from Jenner & Block as head of its energy and infrastructure group, based in New York.
Kohli began his career at Skadden, where he spent nearly eight years, becoming a partner with his move to Jenner in 2023.
He brings experience advising clients including major tech companies on complex high-value transactions. At his previous firm, he was part of a team that advised Meta on a major Louisiana data centre deal, developed in partnership with US energy company Entergy, with a total investment of more than $50bn.
In Houston, Clifford Chance has hired debt finance partner Matthew Jones. Jones joins from Jones Day and brings a practice focused on leveraged finance transactions for public and private borrowers, PE sponsors and lenders across energy and infrastructure.
In Boston, Simpson Thacher has hired PE M&A partner Jessica Cooney. She joins after nearly 12 years at Ropes and Gray, where she made partner in 2023. Simpson’s Boston office opened in 2024, and now counts 12 partners, according to its website.
In New York, Orrick has tapped DLA for special counsel Steve Lozner, who joins as a partner in the structured finance team after more than 12 years at DLA.
Lozner represents investment banks, financial institutions, and institutional investors in complex structured finance and securitisation transactions, in particular CLOs and private credit financing.
Also in New York, King & Spalding has made a double hire into its finance and restructuring practice, bringing in partners Jonathan Ching and Andrew Kummer.
Ching and Kummer arrive from McDermott Will & Schulte, after both joining legacy McDermott Will & Emery from Linklaters in 2023. Ching was a partner at Linklaters, while Kummer made partner with his move to McDermott.
Both bring experience advising financial institutions, investment managers, funds, commodities companies and emerging tech businesses on structured finance, derivatives, fund finance and digital asset transactions.
Their arrival means the firm has now added 12 partners to its finance and restructuring group in 2026. Notable among these hires are four fund finance partners from Proskauer, including Andrew Bettwy and Ron Franklin, who were global finance and corporate and fund finance practice heads at Proskauer, with Franklin now co-heading the global fund finance team at K&S.
Vinson & Elkins has also made a hire in New York, adding M&A partner Enrique Dancausa from Freshfields, where he was a counsel.
Dancausa advises on corporate transactions in the energy, infrastructure and TMT sectors, with a significant focus on Latin America-facing work.
McGuireWoods has hired a pair of litigators in Northern Virginia. Jeff Golimowski and Jeremy Baker join as partners from Womble Bond Dickinson, and bring experience across M&A and commercial litigation, with a focus on construction and public contracts disputes.
Golimowski made partner at WBD in 2013, while Baker was an of counsel.
Finally, in Denver, national firm Holland & Hart has hired a three-partner patent litigation team from Ashurst Perkins Coie, including former office managing partner David St. John-Larkin.
He joins alongside Amanda Tessar and Daniel Keese. All three partners bring deep experience in the technology sector, and worked at legacy Perkins Coie before its merger with Ashurst, where they spent 13, 15, and 12 years respectively.
