Simpson Thacher has continued to tap Kirkland & Ellis for lateral talent, bringing over a pair of partners in New York.
The firm has hired restructuring partner Jordan Elkin, who joins after six years at Kirkland, where he started his career as an associate in 2019, making partner in 2025. Elkin’s arrival further expands the capital structure solutions practice that Simpson Thacher launched earlier this year with its hire of Kirkland liability management heavyweight David Nemecek, and marks the sixth partner hired into the practice from Kirkland since February – including former BlackRock vice president Christine Bae.
