‘The velocity of partner movement is pretty incredible’ – New York follows London’s lead on laterals

The London legal market is often playing catch-up with New York, as UK firms struggle to keep pace with Stateside pay hikes and compete for work from US-led buyout clients.

But a spate of exits from some of Manhattan’s oldest firms suggests that, in one unwelcome regard, New York is now following London’s lead, mirroring some of the changes that have dominated the City in recent years.
