Revolving Doors: Simpson Thacher builds London fund finance practice, while Latham bolsters Brussels antitrust

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has hired Freshfields regulatory partner Emma Rachmaninov, in the latest step in the firm’s fund finance buildout.

Rachmaninov, a Legal 500 leading partner in non-contentious financial services, will join Simpson Thacher as co-head of the firm’s European financial services and funds regulatory team, working alongside Owen Lysak, who joined the firm in 2021 from Clifford Chance. The hire comes as the current co-head of the practice group, Stephanie Biggs, is set to retire.
