Harbottle & Lewis has posted its best-ever financial results, with both revenue and profit per equity partner (PEP) rising to new heights.
The firm saw turnover rise by 3.7% during the 2024-25 financial year to reach £53.8m, up from last year’s £51.9m. PEP, meanwhile, rose 2% to £756,000 from the 2023-24 figure of £741,000.
The performance means the London firm has now enjoyed a 31.5% increase in revenue over the past five years, up from the figure of £40.9m posted in 2020. Over the same period, PEP has risen more modestly, increasing by just over 5% from £718,000.
Perhaps best known for its private client work and media and entertainment practices, Harbottle bolstered its partnership during the financial year with the hire of private client disputes partner and Legal 500 Hall of Famer for contentious trusts and probate, Charles Lloyd, who joined this March after over two decades at Macfarlanes. He joined alongside information litigator and reputation management specialist partner Michael Yates, who arrived from Taylor Wessing.
The West End firm also promoted three lawyers to its partnership in April: entertainment specialist Harry Bresslaw; corporate lawyer Ed Lane, who specialises in the creative industries; and private client, tax and wealth structuring adviser Alasdair Wilson.
Hailing the results, co-managing parent Charles Leveque (pictured above) said: ‘We are very pleased with how the firm has performed over the last financial year, reflected in these strong results which underscore the strength of the relationships we have built with our clients and the trust they continue to have in us.’
These results mark the firm’s first full 12-month financial year since becoming one of a number of firms to change its year end to align with the tax year, following recent HMRC reforms.
