Clifford Chance and Kirkland & Ellis have landed lead roles advising Informa on its acquisition of rival events company Clarion from Blackstone.
The deal – which sees Informa pay the PE house £2.24bn for Clarion, including around £940m raised through an equity placement – comes as the FTSE 100-listed UK multinational refocuses on its core B2B business, spinning off its academic publishing business Taylor & Francis.
