Marcela Ánimas, who joined Nader, Hayaux & Goebel’s sustainable transition working group in 2024, has 25 years of experience in environmental and natural resources matters. Specifically, she often advises clients on sustainability, circular economy, ecological ordinance, environmental impact, and corporate environmental liability issues.

Ánimas is particularly known for her leading expertise in the water sector (regarding water availability, extraction rights and efficiency, recycling and reuse), having worked as external counsel for several public national and international institutions, advising on successful water governance practices.

Her thought leadership contributions have included the publications of several articles across Mexico and Spain on water sustainability, climate change, soil contamination, and the management of national parks. She also frequently has speaking engagements on these topics.
