Co-heading the environmental and climate law group at A&O Shearman, Ken Rivlin is regularly entrusted to advise on complex sustainability and ESG transactional, regulatory, and compliance mandates.

Rivlin is a key contact among major multinational financial institutions, advising on matters including EU ESG regulation, California’s climate disclosure rules, and global sustainable finance trends. Rivlin also leads the team in its advice to the US Department of Energy, conducting environmental and regulatory due diligence within major energy transition transactions.

A notable academic thought leader, Rivlin advises the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia Law School on enhancing its global climate litigation database. Rivlin also co-teaches Columbia University School of Law’s seminar on environmental and ESG concerns in business transactions and corporate decision-making.
