Interlaw has expanded its global referral network by adding two new member firms from the eastern Mediterranean.

The global legal practice now includes Greek firm Rokas and Interlaw has added its first law firm from Lebanon, with Beirut-based Tohme joining the network.

The latest additions bring Interlaw’s membership to 79 firms, with more than 7,000 lawyers covering 133 cities worldwide.

Rokas adds 30 lawyers to the network from its office in Athens, where the firm has expertise in the insurance sector.

Lebanese firm Tohme was established in 1979 in Beirut and specialises in commercial distribution and real estate law.

The Legal 500 describes Rokas as ‘the leading Greek firm in insurance and law’, while Tohme is described as a ‘top-tier boutique law firm’.

Interlaw chair Michael Siebold said: ‘Both Rokas and Tohme are welcome additions to Interlaw and grow our reach across the eastern Mediterranean region.’

Siebold said Rokas offered the network strong cross-border relationships in other jurisdictions, while Tohme provided expertise of working with clients across Qatar, UAE and Europe.

Interlaw’s network has run for more than 30 years and includes ‘quality-monitored, corporate, commercial independent law firms’ in more than 60 countries.

Earlier this year Dentons entered the network market, launching its ‘Nextlaw Global Referral Network’.

The Nextlaw venture is led by senior counsel Jeff Modisett and it allows members within the network to search for firms across cities. The network operates a free membership model and is not territorially exclusive.
