The Legal 500 UK Awards 2018

The Legal 500 UK Awards 2018 recognises and rewards the very best of the best across the legal industry. We pride ourselves on the thorough, in-depth research we carry out in order to produce our rankings of firms and sets in the UK. This leaves us in a unique position to be able to identify the teams who warrant particular recognition.

Lifetime achievement/services to the in-house profession winners

The shortlist and winners are based on merit alone. There are no specific submission requests. Each researcher who worked on the guide was asked for their input and the criteria was a simple but effective one: which law firms, sets and silks stood out for you this year, and why? We were not necessarily looking for top-tier, nor the largest.

We also asked: which companies stood out throughout the course of your research and why? We combined those answers with the research carried out for our GC Powerlist series and our work over the past year across all of our in-house products, to identify our in-house winners.

Speeches at the event were made by David Burgess, publishing director of The Legal 500, and Robbie McIntyre, humanitarian information and communications project manager of Save the Children. McIntyre spoke about the efforts by the legal community to raise funds for Save The Children’s emergency fund via the Billable Hour campaign that The Legal 500 has been supporting.

We are grateful to Save the Children for being The Legal 500 Awards’ charity partner. All the funds raised on the night will directly support children in emergencies. To find out more, or to donate to the Billable Hour campaign, please visit: www.savethechildren.org.uk/billablehour
