BATTERSEA POWER STATION SEES BAKER & MCKENZIE AND NRF TAKE THE LEAD

In one of the largest real estate financings in recent years, Bakers advised a syndicate of Asian and Middle Eastern banks on debt facilities worth £1.35bn. Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) acted for the borrowers.

 

LATHAM, LINKLATERS AND HSF RISE UP THE LEAGUE TABLES WITH $700M DEALOGIC SALE

Cross-border teams from Latham & Watkins and Herbert Smith Freehills advised The Carlyle Group and Euromoney Institutional Investor respectively on their acquisition of Dealogic. Linklaters advised the software and data company.

 

DAVIS POLK AND LINKS ACT AS UBM FUNDS ADVANSTAR ACQUISITION WITH RIGHTS ISSUE

Davis Polk & Wardwell advised UBM on its £565m rights issue, with Linklaters acting for the brokers. The rights issue funded the acquisition of Advanstar Communications, which saw Morgan, Lewis & Bockius mandated for UBM with Slaughter and May and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison instructed for Advanstar.

 

CLEARY AND LATHAM HANDLE ACTAVIS’ $66BN ACQUISITION OF ALLERGAN

In one of the larger pharmaceutical deals of the year, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton advised Actavis on the acquisition of Allergan, creating one of the largest pharmaceutical companies (by sales) in the world. Latham & Watkins handled Allergan’s side with support from Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Richards, Layton & Finger.
