The GC Powerlist Summer Reception returns on 7 June at the renowned private members' club Home House. The annual event is held to mark the publication of our GC Powerlist series with invites going to individuals and teams highlighted in the 2016 and previous editions as well as selected senior in-house counsel.
The evening includes an informal discussion with FT columnist Lucy Kellaway and a very senior GC covering the pain and pleasures of corporate life, the vagaries of office politics and, of course, annoying jargon.
The event promises to be a great chance for senior GCs to relax and network in one of London's leading venues with more than 60 senior in-house counsel attending from major UK companies.
The reception will commence at 6pm at Home House.

Now in their 19th year, our annual Legal Business Awards ceremony celebrates the very best in the legal profession and is regarded by the industry’s leading lawyers as the most prestigious awards event in the legal calendar.
Twenty-three practice and merit categories are open to law firms, chambers, alternative legal providers and in-house legal teams, many hoping to win the two most prestigious awards – Law Firm of the Year and In-House Team of the Year.
Those shortlisted and their guests gather at the Grosvenor House hotel for a gala evening in April in what is the only event regularly attended by senior law firm management, heads of chambers and general counsel – forming a guest list that reads like a Who’s Who of the profession.

As cyber security issues continue to dominate the headlines amid a fractious European backdrop, we assembled a group of senior GCs to ask how to handle the inevitable attacks.
Even the cynics that see cyber security as the latest in a long line of corporate fads generating its own compliance circus and attending cottage industry have to concede that such threats – and the increasingly entwined issue of privacy – are becoming a more pressing matter.
